Safe Ron Terms & Conditions

Summary Terms & Conditions: 

UK, 16+. Parent/guardian of under 18s must be present and give consent. Enter between 09:30 – 16:30 on 28/02/25 & 09:30 – 12:00 on 01/03/25. During the Promotion Period, there will be a locked safe located at 57 High Street, Ware, Hertfordshire, SG12 9AD. The locked safe has a 5-digit passcode. 5 clues will be placed around Ware  , each providing one of the digits of the passcode. Entrants must visit the safe, provide their details and guess the passcode. The first entrant to correctly guess the 5-digit code will win the 1st safe Prize. The safe code will be reset with the same digits in a different combination. The second entrant to correctly guess the 2nd safe’s 5-digit code will win the 2nd safe Prize. No purchase. Prizes: 1st safe: 1 x £5,000. 2nd safe: 1 x £1,000. Prizes provided in a Saffron Building Society savings account. Email address required. Max 1 entry per person per day. Full Terms & Conditions: 

  1. This Promotion is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 16     or over, excluding employees of the Promoter, its agents and anyone professionally associated with this Promotion. Entrants aged under 18 must have their parent/legal guardian present upon entering and receive their consent.
  2. No purchase necessary; however, a valid email address is required.
  3. Promotion Period: Enter between the following Entry Windows:  
    1. 09:30 GMT – 16:30 GMT on the 28 February 2025 inclusive; and
    2. 09:30 GMT – 12:00 GMT on the 1 March 2025  inclusive.
  4. Claim Period: If you are a winner, you must begin the process to claim your Prize immediately upon winning. Claims made after the end of the Promotion Period will be disqualified.
  5. To Enter: During the Promotion Period, there will be a locked safe located at 57 High Street, Ware, Hertfordshire, SG12 9AD. The locked safe has a 5-digit passcode. Throughout the Promotion Period, the following clues will be placed around the town of Ware:
    1. 1 x advertising van
    2. 2 x in shop windows   on the High Street

    3. 2 x in the Saffron Building Society branch

      Each clue will provide one of the digits in the passcode. Entrants must visit the locked safe, provide their details (full name and email address) and guess the 5-digit passcode. The first entrant to have a turn at inputting the locked safe’s passcode and correctly guess the 5-digit code (with the correct digits in the correct order) will win the 1st safe Prize. The safe code will be reset with the same digits in a different combination. The second entrant to correctly guess the 2nd safe’s 5-digit code will win the 2nd safe Prize.

  6. The clues and winning codes have been created fairly under the supervision of PromoVeritas, the independent promotional verification service.
  7. Maximum of 1 entry is permitted per person per day during the Promotion Period.
  8. The Prizes:
    1. 1st safe Prize: There will be 1 winner. The winner will win 1 x £5,000  provided in a Saffron Building Society savings account.  
    2. 2nd safe Prize: There will be 1 winner. The winner will win 1 x £1,000  provided in a Saffron Building Society savings account.  
  9. Further Prize Details and Conditions:
    1. The winner must provide all the necessary details and documents within 2 weeks of initial winner communications. Once the details have been provided and the account has been opened (if applicable), the Prize money will be transferred into the relevant account within 5 working days.
    2. If the winner already has a Saffron Building Society account that accepts deposits, the winner can provide their account number and official ID to have the Prize money transferred into their existing account.
    3. If the winner is a new customer or has an existing Saffron Building Society account that does not accept deposits (e.g. Fixed Rate Bonds), they must provide official ID and a valid proof of address to set up their new Saffron Building Society account.

    5. The Prize can be withdrawn from the Saffron Building Society savings account immediately.

  10. Prize Claiming: If you enter the correct passcode, you will be required to follow the instructions by a Brand Ambassador immediately  . Provisional winners must provide all requested details (including official ID and potentially proof of address) within 14 days to claim their Prize.   Once eligibility has been confirmed and all the requested details have been provided, the provisional winner will be confirmed as a winner. If a provisional winner does not notify the Brand Ambassador immediately upon winning or provide the requested details within 14 days, we reserve the right to disqualify that entrant and award the Prize to a reserve selected in a Wrap Up Draw.  
  11. Wrap Up Draw Winner Selection: Following the end of the Promotion Period, in the event a Prize is unclaimed or unwon, the Promoter reserves the right to request that PromoVeritas conducts a random draw for all non-winning entrants. As this depends wholly on what is won during the Promotion Period, it is unknown whether a Prize will be awarded by this route.
  12. Wrap Up Draw Winner Notification: In the event the Wrap Up Draw is conducted, the provisional winner(s) will be contacted via the email address provided on entry within 5 working days of Wrap Up Draw Winner Selection and will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility and the applicable details about their Saffron Building Society account/to set up a Saffron Building Society account. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the provisional winner(s). Once eligibility has been confirmed, the provisional winner will be confirmed as a winner. If a provisional winner does not respond to the initial contact and provide all requested details within 14 days, we reserve the right to disqualify that entrant and award the Prize to a reserve selected in the same manner. Reserve winners may have less time to respond.
  13. Entrants and provisional winners aged under 18 must have their parent/guardian consent to these Terms & Conditions including the Prize conditions on their behalf.
  14. Prize Acceptance: Once eligibility of the winners are confirmed, the Prizes are accepted and all requested details about their Saffron Building Society account/to set up a Saffron Building Society account are provided, the Prize will be transferred into the account within 5 working days. In the unlikely event that a Prize does not arrive within 5 working days, the winner must inform the Promoter by emailing marketing@saffronbs.co.uk within a further 28 days. If a winner does not do so, the Promoter reserves the right to not issue the Prize or limit its value at its sole discretion.
  15. Provided no objection is received from the winners, a winners list containing the surname and county of residence of the winners will be made available by the Promoter 4 weeks after the close of the Promotion Period, for a period of 8 weeks. It will be available by sending a request via email to marketing@saffronbs.co.uk. Winners can object to their details being published during the Prize Claiming process. Without prejudice, the Promoter will provide winner information to the Advertising Standards Authority when requested by them.
  16. The Promoter may request that the winners participate in publicity arising from the Promotion. Participation is at the winner’s discretion and is not a condition of Prize Acceptance.
  17. The Promoter seeks to run a fair and secure promotion and prevent abuse and cheating. If you enter in a way that is not consistent with these Terms & Conditions, your entry/ies (and any of your associated aliases) will be disqualified. Any Prize awarded may be void and recoverable, and the Promoter reserves the right to bar you from entering future promotions for a period of at least six months. For this reason, the Promoter reserves the right at any point to:
    1. Verify the eligibility of entrants and/or provisional winners through multiple means by requesting such information it consider reasonably necessary for this purpose. Entry or a Prize may be withheld until verification is completed.
    2. Disqualify entries that are not made directly by the individual entering the Promotion.
    3. Disqualify entries made using anonymous email services such as, but not limited to, GuerillaMail, Dispostable or Mailinator.
    4. Disqualify entries beyond the maximum allowed, using aliases or identities other than their own or any other means.
    5. Disqualify entrants who tamper with the entry process.
    6. Disqualify entries which, in some other way, do not meet the requirements of these Terms & Conditions.
    7. Cancel, modify or suspend the Promotion should it not be capable of running as planned for reasons including but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, dishonesty, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion.
  18. The Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for monetary value or any other form of compensation. If for any reason the Prizes are not available, the Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion to substitute that Prize for another of equal or greater value.
  19. No responsibility can be taken for entries which are lost, delayed, corrupted, damaged, misdirected or incomplete or which cannot be delivered for any technical, delivery or other reason. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt. The Promoter does not guarantee continuous or secure access to the locked safe.
  20. The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies are not liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this Promotion (JS15440) or accepting or using the/a Prize(s), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.  Nothing will exclude the Promotor’s liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.
  21. The Promoter will not be liable for any delay or failure to comply with its obligations for reasons beyond its reasonable control arising from but not limited to Acts of God, global or regional epidemic or pandemic, adverse weather conditions, fire, industrial dispute, war, terrorist activity, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, plague or other natural calamities, or any other circumstances.
  22. All personal data supplied for this Promotion will be used for the purpose of this Promotion and for research and analytical purposes by the Promoter and/or by any agent appointed by it to assist with running the Promotion. Personal data will not be disclosed to an unconnected third party unless your positive consent has been obtained. Your personal data will be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy, available at: www.saffronbs.co.uk/privacy-policy
  23. If any part/s of these Terms & Conditions are legally ruled to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remainder will not be affected and will continue in full force and effect.
  24. By entering, you will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
  25. If there is a discrepancy between these Terms & Conditions and those in any promotional material, these Terms & Conditions will prevail.
  26. These Terms & Conditions are governed by English law and their interpretation and application will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Residents of Scotland and Northern Ireland may bring proceedings in their own jurisdiction.
