To celebrate the reopening of our newly refurbished branch in Ware, we’ve locked a prize worth up to £5,000 in a safe in-branch – being guarded by Safe Ron. Find the combination to open the safe and you’ll be the lucky safe-cracker who gets their hands on the loot!
A five-number combination is the key to cracking the safe. You need to:
• find the five numbers hidden round the town centre
• guess the order they should be in to form the combination
• try that combination on Safe Ron’s safe
• and if you’re the first person to open the safe, £5,000 in a Saffron account is yours!
If somebody succeeds in opening the safe and wins the £5,000, we’ll place in the safe a second prize of £1,000 in a Saffron savings account. The combination will be reset but will use the same five numbers in a new order. So you can crack on!
To help you find the five numbers, we’ve created a map showing where they are in town. You may wish to print it and fill in the five numbers as you find them. To start you off, two numbers are in the Ware branch itself!

You have two days to crack the combination! The safe will be accessible in-branch on Friday 28 February (from 9.30am to 4.30pm) and Saturday 1 March (from 9.30am to 12 noon) 2025.
If the safe hasn’t been sprung by 12 noon on Saturday 1 March, all entrants who have submitted their name and email address will be entered into a prize draw. This means that somebody will definitely be winning the £5,000!
You don’t even need to be a Saffron member – as long as you’re 18 or over or 16+ with a parent/guardian, you’re welcome to try your luck at safe-cracking. Safe Ron is looking forward to meeting you!

The locked safe has a 5-digit passcode. 5 clues will be placed around Ware , each providing one of the digits of the passcode.
