Unlock up to £5,000 in our Ware branch!

To celebrate the reopening of our newly refurbished branch in Ware, we’ve locked a prize worth up to £5,000 in a safe in-branch – being guarded by Safe Ron. Find the combination to open the safe and you’ll be the lucky safe-cracker who gets their hands on the loot!

Here’s how you can unlock the safe

A five-number combination is the key to cracking the safe. You need to:
• find the five numbers hidden round the town centre
• guess the order they should be in to form the combination
• try that combination on Safe Ron’s safe
• and if you’re the first person to open the safe, £5,000 in a Saffron account is yours!

If somebody succeeds in opening the safe and wins the £5,000, we’ll place in the safe a second prize of £1,000 in a Saffron savings account. The combination will be reset but will use the same five numbers in a new order. So you can crack on!

To help you find the five numbers, we’ve created a map showing where they are in town. You may wish to print it and fill in the five numbers as you find them. To start you off, two numbers are in the Ware branch itself!

When you can try your luck

You have two days to crack the combination! The safe will be accessible in-branch on Friday 28 February (from 9.30am to 4.30pm) and Saturday 1 March (from 9.30am to 12 noon) 2025.

What if nobody cracks the combination?

If the safe hasn’t been sprung by 12 noon on Saturday 1 March, all entrants who have submitted their name and email address will be entered into a prize draw. This means that somebody will definitely be winning the £5,000!

Anyone can enter!

You don’t even need to be a Saffron member – as long as you’re 18 or over or 16+ with a parent/guardian, you’re welcome to try your luck at safe-cracking. Safe Ron is looking forward to meeting you!

Summary Terms & Conditions: 

UK, 16+. Parent/guardian of under 18s must be present and give consent. Enter between 09:30 – 16:30 on 28/02/25 & 09:30 – 12:00 on 01/03/25. During the Promotion Period, there will be a locked safe located at 57 High Street, Ware, Hertfordshire, SG12 9AD. The locked safe has a 5-digit passcode. 5 clues will be placed around Ware  , each providing one of the digits of the passcode. Entrants must visit the safe, provide their details and guess the passcode. The first entrant to correctly guess the 5-digit code will win the 1st safe Prize. The safe code will be reset with the same digits in a different combination. The second entrant to correctly guess the 2nd safe’s 5-digit code will win the 2nd safe Prize. No purchase. Prizes: 1st safe: 1 x £5,000. 2nd safe: 1 x £1,000. Prizes provided in a Saffron Building Society savings account. Email address required. Max 1 entry per person per day.
