Below you’ll find some useful information to help you plan your visit, including arrival details, parking, accessibility and what to expect on the day.
The Audley End tour is a guided visit of Audley End House and Gardens as part of Members’ Month. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the historic house and grounds, hear more about the site, and enjoy time at one of English Heritage’s best-known local landmarks.
The tour takes place at Audley End House and Gardens, Off London Road, Saffron Walden, Essex, CB11 4JF. The site is around one mile west of Saffron Walden on the B1383. Please follow English Heritage signs as you approach the venue.
The tours are expected to last between 60-90 minutes. After the tour we will be serving free tea and coffee with cake.

Free parking is available at Audley End House and Gardens, with overflow parking on grass when needed. Accessible parking bays are available in the car park on a first come, first served basis.
There may be a walk from the car park to the house and gardens, with surfaces including gravel, tarmac, cobbles and grass. Some areas have gentle slopes, and a few bridges may have a step or steeper slope.
There is level access to parts of the site, including the ground floor of the house, toilets and shop. The first floor of the house cannot be accessed without using stairs. Wheelchair and mobility scooter loans can be booked in advance directly with Audley End by calling 01799 522842.
Audley End provides support for visitors with a range of access needs. If you have specific requirements, please contact us before the event on 0800 072 1100 so we can make a note of them and help where possible.
There is no dress code, but we suggest smart casual.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your allocated start time.
After the tour we will be offering free tea and coffee with cakes.
The dietary information you submitted in your entry to the prize draw has supplied to Audley End House.
You are welcome to take photographs for personal use where permitted by English Heritage. Please be respectful of other guests and follow any guidance from the English Heritage team on the day. We kindly ask that you do not film the tour.

Saffron Building Society may take photographs or short video clips during the event for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in any images, please make a member of the event team aware when you arrive.
Mobile phones are allowed, but please keep them on silent during the tour so that everyone can enjoy the experience.
No, the event is not ticketed. We will be signing everyone in according to our guest list, so please give your name to the event team when you arrive.
