We are no longer supporting unsecure web browsers connecting to our website. You may need to update or adjust your browser settings so that you can access the online savings portal in the most secure way.

If you are unsure what this means, you can call our Saffron Direct team on 0800 072 1100.

What is a web browser?

When you look at the internet on your computer, tablet or mobile phone, you use a program or app called a web browser.

Historically, Microsoft Windows operating system came with the Internet Explorer web browser as standard. This is still available today, but now there are other web browsers to choose from including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge.

What happens if I don't update my browser?

Saffron Building Society no longer supports unsecure web browsers. To be able to continue to connect to our websites you must update your browser. Once it has been updated you will be able to view and access your funds safely and it will also allow all functionality to work properly.

Ensuring your browser is up to date

If you haven't updated your browser before, you should check that it is up-to-date.
You can find out if you have the most up-to-date browser by using the site which will check if you need to update to a newer version.

•    Download Mozilla Firefox

•    Download Microsoft Edge

•    Download Internet Explorer

•    Download Apple Safari

However, if you are unable to upgrade to Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, the following instructions will keep your credentials and data safe while using Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10.

Please be aware that you are no longer able to access Saffron Building Society websites using Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10 on Windows 7 or 8 without making these changes to your browser settings.

Use the following steps to make your browser compatible.

1.    Click on the gear icon near the top-right corner of an Internet Explorer window, select the "Internet options" menu item

Internet Options menu

2.    Select the Advanced tab in Internet Options
