Saffron Community Fund Announcement

When we realised the difficulty of choosing one single charity from so many deserving causes, and the challenge of impacting on a whole region, our Community Fund Initiative was born. In the 11 years that we have been running the fund, we estimate that we have helped 63,352 people in our communities through this funding. Already in 2024, we've seen more causes we want to support. Here is an update on our latest grant giving.

Working in partnership with the Essex Community Foundation (who administer our fund), with great pleasure we have awarded £27,386 across these 8 recipients; Brightview Farm, Christian Youth Outreach Braintree District Trust, Dig It Community Allotment, Enterprise East Group CIC, Happy Hill Essex CIO, Small Acts of Kindness Trust, Special Needs and Parents Limited and Stepping Stones Play and Learn Group.

Applications for our next round of funding are now open and close on 31st May. If you know a charity or community group who would be eligible, find out more about the application process here.

Our panel had the difficult task of selecting the recipients from an extensive list of entries, they were struck by the extraordinary work they do to offer support and care to their communities.

“Grant giving to these incredible charities to ensure they can thrive in ever more challenging circumstances is so important, the services they provide are invaluable”, says our Community Business Partner Claire Hunnable as she is about to begin her visits to our new round of fund recipients to see how it's supporting them. She is always amazed at the dedication, and constant drive to improve the support they offer the people in our communities.
