Independent financial advice

Plan for tomorrow, today: our selected partners can help you make a plan. Do any of us spend as much time planning for the future as we should?

As we go about our busy lives we sometimes lose sight of the future and fail to put adequate plans in place. At Saffron Building Society, we believe good planning can help you to feel more secure and reduce the worry of dealing with financial issues which can crop up unexpectedly from time to time.

What you can expect

If you already have a financial plan in place we can arrange for you to talk to an adviser who will help you to decide whether it still meets your needs. If you don’t have a plan in place, an adviser will be able to help you to create one.

Financial planning is about establishing your future financial requirements and identifying the most suitable way of achieving them. There are thousands of different financial products available which means there are lots of different ways to meets your aims. However, many of us rarely have the time to do the research or have the required expertise to make confident decisions.

Independent financial advice can be extremely valuable. An experienced adviser will work with you to build your plan which will be relevant to your age and circumstances. So whether you are planning for retirement or looking to start a family, our partners at Wren Sterling can advise you about how you can prepare for the future.

Why you might need it

In times of great uncertainty, it makes sense to get all the advice you need.

Since 1849 Saffron Building Society have been helping people to buy their homes and save for the future. To provide access to specialist advice on financial planning, we have formed a partnership with Wren Sterling, who are independent financial advisers.

We have selected Wren Sterling as like us, they are straightforward, approachable and proactive. According to research by Old Mutual Wealth1, 90% of people who see a financial adviser on a regular basis feel that the advice has benefited them.

If you are looking to take control of your finances then we’d like to help.

How we work with Wren Sterling

We can arrange an initial meeting between you and a Wren Sterling independent financial adviser to talk about your current circumstances and creating a financial plan for the future.

During this meeting, an adviser will explain your options in more detail. These will depend on the areas which need to be addressed to meet your plans. Once you have had this meeting, there is no obligation to proceed any further, and no paid work will be undertaken without your approval.

What you can expect

We know from experience that people have very different objectives depending on their stage of life.

Young families might be interested in putting extra insurance in place for protection. Those approaching retirement may be looking to make sure they have enough money to live comfortably when they stop work. Those in retirement will be looking to make the most of their savings and put their money in the right location to keep it safe while it earns them extra income.

However, it’s wrong to generalise. That’s why an adviser from Wren Sterling will take the time to learn more about you and create personalised financial plan, tailored to your aspirations and current circumstances. The advice can cover all or some of the following:

  • Investments
  • Protection
  • Pension advice and transfers
  • Retirement Planning
  • Tax advice
  • Business advice (for example, company pension schemes and managing corporate pension risk)
