The day to day role:
- Accurately and efficiently the underwriting and processing of (including complex income) new business decision in principles (DIPs), full mortgage applications (FMAs), completions & post completion retentions and contract variations in line with approved mandate and all internal policies, procedures, criteria and guidance to ensure there are fair customer outcomes on all applications
- Identifying and processing Mortgage Indemnity Guarantee Referrals
- Contacting Brokers by Phone and effectively dealing with questions and queries over the phone in line with internal procedures
- Identifying, logging, and where required managing complaints in accordance with the Society’s complaint handling policy and procedures
- Carrying out additional tasks, including administration tasks and projects as and when requested
- Adhering to all relevant regulatory and internal requirements including Mortgage Conduct of Business (MCOB), Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) Anti Money Laundering (AML), Consumer Duty and internal policy, criteria, procedures and guidance
- Keeping up to date with changes to criteria, policy and guidance via training and updates
- Proactively identify and recommend changes for improvements to criteria, policies and procedures aimed at improving our proposition and making it easier to do business with
- Building and maintaining successful working relationships with stakeholders across the business including business development, processing, servicing and retentions
- Making fast paced difficult decisions whilst supporting recommendations with clear and supporting rational
To be successful:
- Ce-Map Level 1, 2 & 3 (Specialist)
- A good understanding of regulatory requirements, including General Data Protection Regulation, Anti Money Laundering, Ce-MAP, Treating Customers Fairly & Mortgage Conduct of Business Rules (Responsible Lending) (Specialist)
- Ability to read, understand and analyse balance sheets and profit & loss accounts for small / intermediate sized businesses (Specialist)
