Let's explain the small print. The Financial Services Authority is an independent body regulated by the government and funded by the Financial Services Industry to protect you.

Data Protection Act

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you have the right to see and receive a copy of your personal information that we hold about you. Should you wish to exercise this right we will charge you an administration fee of £10.

Identification procedure

When you apply for a mortgage with us we are required by law to check your identity. Further information can be found in our leaflet Identifying you and preventing fraud.

Complaints procedure

Saffron Building Society is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and circumstances of the claim. Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the first £2,000 and 90% of the remainder of the claim, without any upper limit. Further information about the compensation scheme arrangements are available from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Saffron Building Society operates an internal complaints procedure details of which are available from all branches.
