Mortgages made clear

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is the independent watchdog set up by the government to regulate financial services and protect your rights, and they have launched a new website for consumers providing impartial, jargon-free information about mortgages.

The mortgages made clear website brings together new and existing FSA mortgage tools and resources. The tools include budget calculators that will help you work out how much you can afford to borrow and how much a mortgage will cost each month; mortgage tables to help you compare the features of hundreds of different mortgages available in the marketplace and a 'Firm Check' service so consumers can check that the firm they are dealing with is authorised.
