Members suggest more rewards for local families

Saffron Building members were invited to join the Society's Executive Directors this week to discuss the society's products and services.

The meetings took the form of informal lunches in stylish local surroundings where members were encouraged to relax, chat with the Society's Executives, and discuss how the Society could continue to support them and their families in the prevailing economic climate.

Members were very forthcoming and gave Saffron's Directors a number of practical suggestions for products and services, including competitive savings accounts for members' families and accounts for First Time Buyers saving for deposits which would offer additional benefits on taking out a Saffron mortgage.

Saffron's Chief Executive Andy Golding said: "I was delighted that our members had so many ideas for new products that would genuinely make a difference to them. We are particularly confident that we can offer better investment rates to the family of our members. I see no reason why siblings, parents or grandchildren shouldn't benefit from their family connections to Saffron Building Society, and we hope to have a family linked product on the shelves very soon".

The Society's drive to get the best from their savings was also praised by the lunch guests, who were grateful for the information given by branch staff, the Society's contact centre, and the Society's regular email updates.

Andy continued: "As a Society, we relish the challenges set by our members, and to be able to meet so many of them face to face has been a great opportunity to gauge how effectively we are serving them and keeping them in the loop. Many of our lunch attendees were passionate about their building society and their feedback has given us plenty of food for thought."
