Local Building Society calls for local charities
Saffron Building Society, the regional mutual serving the East of England, is putting out a call to local charities as they search for four Local Charities of the Year.
Saffron's branches are working together to select four charities to support through fundraising, volunteering and advocacy during 2010. This follows 2009's community support scheme where Saffron staff raised over £10,000 for good causes around the region and donated over 160 hours of their time.
Branches are being clustered together into groups of three to work together to support a charity, as follows:
- Frinton, Colchester and Halstead branch
- Saffron Walden, Haverhill and Sawbridgeworth branch
- Royston, Bishop's Stortford, and Ware branch
- Brentwood, Great Dunmow and Stratford branch
Each cluster is looking to nominate three charities for Saffron members to then vote for when they visit the branch. This voting process will be publicised in branches for a month-long voting period.
