Building Society announces sponsorship of local Triathlete
Saffron Building Society today announces its sponsorship of local Triathlete Jack Peasgood for the 2009-10 Triathlon season.
The announcement follows Jack's recent qualification to represent Great Britain in the Triathlete squad, which took Jack to the World Age Group Championships in Australia in September 2009.
Now 19 years old, Jack is a member of Walden Tri and has been competing in the U19 age group around the country this season with great success.
David Peasgood, Jack's father said: "Jack's qualification for the British Team was well-deserved and took him straight out to Australia. There is no financial support for athletes at this level, and we were grateful to the local companies that assisted him financially with this event.
"We are very pleased to have Saffron Building Society as Jack's main sponsor, for the coming year. Saffron Building Society join 'Edge Performance', 'Saffron Insurance' and 'Newdales Cycle Shop' as Jack's sponsors. Having this funding will allow Jack to source additional training, purchase up to date equipment and enter not only local events but also join the GB squad again for the European Age Group Championships for which he has already qualified."
John Eastgate, Sales and Marketing Director of Saffron BS said: "Jack has enjoyed great success so far in his sporting career and we consider it an honour to be sponsoring a local up-and-coming Triathlon star. The Society's relationship with the Peasgood family predates our record books! We're glad that we can give something back to a family that has been with the Society for over 100 years and wish Jack all the best for the forthcoming season."
