Bishop's Stortford Branch 160th Birthday raises cash for charity

[L-R] Bishop's Stortford Mayor Colin Woodward, Andy Golding, Stacey Johnson of Kisses for Kids.
Following a local party to celebrate its 160th Anniversary on 13th August, Saffron Building Society is delighted to announce that it has raised £160 for local charity Kisses for Kids.
Over the course of the day, Saffron welcomed over 280 people to its branch for refreshments and cake; the Society donated 25p for every person wearing a '160' Birthday Badge.

Bishop's Stortford Mayor Colin Woodward enjoys some candyfloss with local children.
Face-painting in the branch and roaming stilt walker entertained the party-goers, and over 200 helpings of candyfloss were given out from a stand on the market. Part of the £160 total was made up by the contributions of party visitors; the rest was donated by the Society itself.
Sales and Marketing Director John Eastgate said:
"Throwing the party was our way of thanking our customers and local people, whilst raising money for a good cause. We feel we have a lot to celebrate, and it was fantastic that so many people came in to celebrate with us."
