Local Building Society offers manpower to local projects
Saffron Building Society, the regional building society serving the East of England, is offering its staff to help with local volunteer projects in and around Halstead and Brentwood.
The Society's volunteering initiative is part of its 160th Anniversary celebrations. Saffron staff have pledged 160 hours of staff time to local charitable projects or good causes in their branch network.
The offer of further volunteering comes after two successful events in which staff helped redecorate St. Elizabeth's centre near Bishop's Stortford and spruced up the playground of Katherine Semar Infant School in Saffron Walden.
Sales and Marketing Director John Eastgate said:
"Our volunteering initiative is just one way that we hope to give something back to organisations and families in the areas that we serve. So far this has allowed us to assist with tasks that require extra manpower and get large jobs done in one day. As a building society, we understand that giving a little of our time often makes for a service that money can't buy. We want to distribute our staff's time across the region and are determined to reach our 160 hour target.
"We've been armed with paint brushes on the previous two tasks, but are happy to turn our hands to a wide variety of jobs - gardening, cleaning, catering or anything else suitable for a small group to undertake in a day".
If you are based in or around Brentwood or Halstead and have a project that would benefit from borrowing half a dozen Saffron staff, the Building Society would love to hear from you. Please write to '160 Volunteers', Saffron Building Society, 1A Market Street, Saffron Walden, Essex CB10 1HX or email marketing@saffronbs.co.uk to tell us about your project.
