Saffron Building Society continues to ease customers' finances by removing charges on its savings accounts
Saffron Building Society, the regional building society serving East Anglia, is removing many of the charges on its savings accounts giving members more flexibility and helping them avoid paying unnecessary penalties.
- The following charges have been removed:
- Stopped cheque fee has been removed (was £15)
- Unpaid cheque fee has been removed (was £16)
- Lost passbook fee has been removed (was £10) provided the customer does not lose their passbook twice in a 12 month period
Andy Golding, Chief Executive of Saffron Building Society, says, "We are always looking for ways to assist our members and make sure we put their needs first. Although removing these charges on our savings accounts may seem a small gesture we hope it will help our members avoid paying out for incidents that are often not their fault. The current climate is very tough for banks and low interest rates have generated discussions over the removal of free banking. We want to reassure our customers that we are still committed to doing all we can to decrease their expenditures and encourage them to save."
