Branch Charity of the Year

Back in April we asked our members to come in to branches and vote for our Branch Charities of the Year. We are now delighted to announce the winners:

Colchester, Frinton and Halstead

Haverhill, Sawbridgeworth and Saffron Walden

Great Dunmow, Stratford and Brentwood

  • Little Haven Hospice
  • Respite breaks and end-of-life care for youngsters living with serious conditions.

Royston, Ware and Bishop's Stortford

  • Kisses 4 Kids
  • Charity supporting children with serious or terminal illness through treats, leisure activities and granting wishes.

Each winning charity will enjoy support from the branches and Head Office teams throughout the year, by way of fundraising, volunteering and advocacy.

A small donation has been sent to each of the charities in the running who did not win the vote, in recognition of their good work in the local area.

To follow our charity campaigns as they unfold, why not join us on Facebook?. When our staff are getting sweaty, covered in paint, or dressed up for a good cause, we like to share their efforts! Our photo albums are there to show what they've been up to.

Looking for Support for your Charity?

We try to support as many charities as possible throughout the year. Though the focus will be on our branch charities in 2010, if you have a project, event or good cause and are looking for help, we can support local charities in a number of ways:

  • 1. Loan of our Mobile Communications Vehicle
  • Ideal for events, the MCV is an inexpensive PA and kitchen unit which has proved an asset to fêtes, sports days, dog shows, sponsored walks, and much more all over the region. Follow the link to find out more.
  • 2. Manpower!
  • Saffron employs around 120 staff, all of them highly talented and able to turn their hands to anything from painting to gardening. We are happy to consider sending a small team to get an important job done for you. 'Teambuilding' has never been so worthwhile. See our volunteering pages for more information.
  • 3. Prizes, donations and sponsorship
  • We get a lot of requests for sponsorship of events, sports teams, projects and more, and try to support as many as we can. If you'd like to make a request for support, think about:

    1. What would be most helpful to you - a donation, a raffle prize, or sponsorship
    2. Whether your project or event could acknowledge Saffron's support in some way
    3. Whether your organisation or the people within it have any special links to Saffron Building Society

You can email us at marketing@saffronbs.co.uk or write to us at our Head Office with your requests and ideas.

  • 4. Savings Accounts
  • It might seem obvious, but Savings Accounts are our business! We have a long history of supporting local good causes in managing their money, and offer some competitive accounts to help make your funds go further. For more information, visit our Corporate Savings pages - most of the accounts are open to charitable organisations or clubs.
