Saffron Building Society's Great Dunmow branch has strengthened its service to customers with the appointment of a new manager.
Before joining the Society as branch manager, Michael Niklewicz worked as a book keeper and a recruitment consultant and is no stranger to dealing with financial issues.
He said: "I've been with Saffron Building Society for a few weeks now and it's certainly a much different culture to being in recruitment, as it's much more customer focussed and customer friendly, which is something I was looking for."
As well as working with customers and staff, Michael is looking forward to promoting the work of the Society within the community.
He said: "I really want Great Dunmow to see this as a community branch, so people know we're here to help them. We're not here to compete with the large banks and building societies that you can find on the high street, we're here to give people a local service. I'm also investigating how we can get more involved with community activities and grow our community spirit."
