Building Society even provides a kitchen sink for good causes

Charities, good causes and community events across the region will be making some noise this summer - thanks to the Saffron Building Society.

The Society has already loaned out or booked its specially built mobile communications vehicle (MCV) to 30 events in 2007 as part of its community support programme.

The MCV is a trailer fitted with a high-tech public address system, powered by its own generator, making it ideal for fetes, fun runs or anywhere in need of a microphone and speakers. It also has its own cooking area - including a sink - meeting the needs of most community events.

Best of all, the Society makes no charge for the use of the MCV, apart from a mileage charge for delivery.

So far in 2007, the MCV has been used at a variety of events including; a music festival, a flower festival and for community fundraising events.

Andy Golding, Saffron Building Society chief executive, said: "We feel we play a key part in the communities served by our branches and offering the MCV is just one way of providing a useful and valuable service in the region.

"The MCV gives local charities, voluntary groups and organisations access to a resource they may not otherwise have been able to afford. We're delighted that so many groups are using it in 2007 and we're hoping that even more will book it for events before the year is out."
