One of the region's charities is set to benefit from a £10,000 windfall from the Saffron Building Society.
The society is now accepting applications from local charities that could use the cash to make a vital difference to people across the area.
Charities based in Essex, Hertfordshire or Suffolk are particularly encouraged to apply, with an explanation of how they will spend the cash and who or what will benefit.
Saffron Building Society chief executive Andy Golding said: "As a mutual, we pride ourselves on working with our members and local organisations to benefit the local area.
"For years our charitable donation scheme has helped many charities and organisations in Eastern England and 2007 will be no different."
Andy Golding said: "This is an exciting opportunity for the society to help charities make a real difference across the region. We are looking forward to receiving many entries and we're sure we will have a tough time picking the most appropriate recipients."
Organisations interested in applying for the £10,000 donation should contact Amy Hepworth at the society at amy.hepworth@saffronbs.co.uk. Further information and an application form is available on our charity programme page.
A selection panel will then meet to choose the winning charities.
In 2006 the society donated £10,000 to Uttlesford Crossroads to help its work in providing respite services for carers in the area.
